Adding domain name support to gametracker

I was wondering if you guys will ever support domain names for servers instead of just accepting IP's.

We do not have a static IP and from time to time, our server changes IP, which is annoying as we have to go and re-add the server yet again time after time.

What i mean by domain name is f.ex: mw2.banditcompany.com:28961 & mw2.banditcompany.com:28962 which are 2 servers we current have running.

I know that you may enter mw2.banditcompany.com, and that gametracker translates it into 83.227.79.64, but, i'd want the permanent "IP" on gametracker to remain the URL one, so that i can just go and re-direct my ip via our website to point at the right IP should it change yet again.

I am not sure it will be added, but it is possible support for that could come at some point in the future.
I am retired from GameTracker after 11 years and will not be responsive for support requests.

Alright, well, is it possible for me to ask to have ip changed for a server registered here on gametracker IF the IP changed?

I mean, instead of registering yet another server.

Bump.

I totally agree with the OP. This would be an incredibly useful feature for me an I am sure, other people who host their own dedicated servers.

why is gods name do you have a dynamic IP for a game server that defeats the purpose everytime the IP changes people would have to refind the server in there server browsers and favorites and so on...This has to be the most rediculous thing i have ever heard hahahhhaha........ just go rent the servers from a hosting company and your IP's will stay the same, LOL If you cant play with the Big Dogs go home.

Are you insane? I personally host my own dedicated server for personal and use within my group of friends. I have a dynamic IP because I have no need for buying a static IP from my ISP. Then I use no-ip.com to give me a domain that will be re-assigned to my IP every time my IP changes through some simple installed software. When It does change however I have to register a new GameTracker page (annoying).

How about you consider all situations and read people's comments correctly before insulting people who support this new feature. Wow, some people are ignorant.

Please do this,

We have like 4 or 5 servers we rather use our domain instead of IP because of the way that we host them.
