As you are probably aware, MNC servers always return the hostname as "Dedicated". However the real server hostname is returned where other games (eg, TF2) return the game name.
Example: http://screencast.com/t/uDdvRAAqr I don't know if the game name is exposed to GameTracker, but I assume it's possible to get since Steam can access it. It would be really nice if GameTracker could be updated to use the correct data for MNC servers. Hopefully this happens at some point. :3 |

At this time we're not receiving the server name in the response back from the server.

Isn't that in A2S_INFO?
Both HLSW and Steam are able to grab it. I'm also told it's possible to get using Steam Condenser, but haven't tested that myself. |

For the servers I have looked at, HLSW returns "dedicated" as the server name. Do you have a link to a GameTracker server page or ip:port of a server where HLSW show a different server name than GameTracker?

The server name does return as dedicated, however the game name which in most cases shows what game the server is hosting, eg TF2, L4D, etc, shows the server's hostname.
Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/PayCBR5G The MNC server in the screenshot is hosted at 64.79.103.82:27022 if you want to poke it yourself. |
