Server Shown as "dead"

First of all, hi all!!
I'm from Argentina, and I have a question, surely you can help me.

Why a server is shown as "dead" if the server is alive, whit a lot of players playing in it.

There are any requirements (ex, firewall, router config, ports open, etc.) for gametracker to find the server as "Alive".

Where can I find a guide to configure properly my server?

Thanks a lot for your time and help.

if you need extra info please ask, thanks.

greetings from argentina

You will have to open the ports either on the firewall or the router or both (TCP and UDP). Sometimes only opening the UDP port can be sufficient. You may need to make sure the router is port forwarded properly too. Depending on the game, there may be server config options that determine if stats are reported.

If you need help on one of those topics, I would recommend making a specific google search, like "port forwarding on ___ router."

Burn, thanks for you quick reply.

I was googling a lot, because I'm not into this, about game servers.

Specifically the game is unreal tournament 3.

Which ports are required, becouse I don't control de router. I have to ask the hosting support to do that.

Thanks for the info about port forwarding. It will be easier if I control the router / fw, but not.

Disabling firewall will help?

thanks againg for your help!!!!!

If there is a hosting provider, you should be able to contact them to check to make sure nothing is blocking the scanning.

Also, I believe UT3 needs to be updated to the newest patch. I am not sure which version, but I believe UT3 was not able to be scanned until the query protocol was added in a patch after it was released.

Yes I'm able to contact them, I will do. Sorry if I ask dumb/noob questions, I'm not an expert

We have Ut3 with the lastest patchs (2.1)

Specifically, what ports needs to be open, with this should help??
27900
6515
6500

I also ask about the config of port forwarding in the router, is this ok?

thanks a lot for your help, Now I understand better.

You should be able to use HLSW (hlsw.org) to scan it a better way than manually doing it.

I confirm the server not run on query port ( 6500 ), now I don't know what more test.
I think that when run ut3 server somothing must run on 6500

Am I right?

(it see ut3 running on udp port 13000, 29900, 7777, but not 6500!)

now I can confirm that something is listening on port 6500 (query port), and still the server is shown as dead

I use qstat protocol to query and "no response".

I have to wait, or what else can I test..

thanks for reading!!!!
