I've noticed weird performance drops when playing UT3, with the client loaded.
It's most noticeable on Deck, particularly in the vicinities of the slime pools. Without GameTracker loaded, my framerates in these areas are between 70-80fps. With it loaded, they drop to about 12-15fps !! The version of UT3 in question is via Steam, and is fully patched. All my drivers, including gfx, are up to date. I am aware that there may have been pre-existing issues with the areas of Deck mentioned; I just find it strange I only experience these drops with GameTracker client loaded. Brief PC Specs... Hi selexel,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I will try to test against similar PC specs and UT3 before our next major GT Lite release. The loss in frame rate is most likely related to GT Lite's screenshot system. You could try disabling it for UT3. In the GT Lite settings window, under game setup, click "Edit Game" for UT3. An "Edit Game" window will open, where you can disable screenshots and other in-game features. |
