Adding Map Images

I don't get this map image upload system. I select the browse button to upload an image, select the image and press upload, and it lists a name for an image that is in a dropdown already on the website, not the name of the file I uploaded.

It is pretty simple to upload map images. When you are on the server's page, there is a link below the map image spot to upload an image or dispute an image.

If you are disputing an image, it will take you to the page where only that image is selected in the drop down. There is a link above the form to switch it to show all maps/games instead of the one you are disputing.

If you are already on the page with the maps listed, you select the game you want, what the map name starts with (for larger lists) and then the map name. Below it, you upload the image that corresponds to that map.

Unfortunately, we do NOT have a feature to automatically detect which map you are uploading based upon by processing the pixels of the image itself and it would be impossible to read your mind as to which image you want to upload for. You have to specifically select which map you are uploading it for, unless it does it automatically in the case of disputing an image.

For instance, I did not upload a map with a filename called "!!deletethisawesomemap" nor one called "e-nigma_madness", but that's what was put there automatically by uploading.

You're not getting it. I know how to upload, only the file uploading isn't using the file name of the image I'm uploading. It's using the name from the drop-down list of (apparently) existing files, and they aren't even similar. So it shows that I have images waiting for preview by names I didn't put there, so I've no idea what the image is.

For instance, I didn't upload an image named "e-nigma_madness" nor "!!deletethisawesomemap", but those names were used automatically when I uploaded the images.

Please list the specific steps you are taking to upload the image, including the links you are taking to get to the page and what you are entering. Also, include which browser you are using.

You should be doing something similar to:
1. Click "Upload an image for this map!" on the server page.
2. Verify the status of the options shown, eg for the half-life 2 map "rp_kirby_plaza_v1a," the "Game" dropdown should have "Half-life 2" selected, "starts with" dropdown should be "R", and "Map name" should be "rp_kirby_plaza_v1a."
3. Upload the image you want to use (the name of the image file on your computer does not matter, as it is renamed when added).
4. Click upload.
