Levelshots for server considered "branded"?

Sorry if this has been asked before (I searched) but I'm ressurecting two different modifications for quake3, one still a mod, one a TC going on its own. WFA and True Combat.

I've been using the actual levelshots for the loading screens as the bitmaps but they just got rejected. There is a wrapper around them, and the levels only work with the specific games, so this is my question:

If a level can only be played for a specific modification of a game, and the "branding" has the name of the modification (it's very small, almost indiscernible with the shrunken image), is that really considered branding and is there any arbitration?

I can take the "wrapper" off, but these are the images that the players see when the game loads, so those that *do* play the game know what level is currently playing.

We're talking over 200 maps I gotta take screenshots for individually now, if this is the case. Which is a pain, but doable, but would like to avoid that right now as I'm coding my arse off right now.

Would this be considered "branding"? It's the flag, with the name of the mod on it, as it has been since the 90's.

Or this one? It has the logo in the lower-right.

Hi shadowspawn_,

The actual rejection text should be "Altered/Branded." This basically means it is not the simple map screenshot and has additional text or graphics on it. "Alterations" is the general category name, but this can include branding (text, url's, logos, etc.), added image effects and borders, and so on. This is usually used when people place their server IP on the image or steal an image from FPSBanana.

I allow most images where there is branding directly in the map that is visible. It depends on how noticeable it is in the map image. Sometimes it is harder to tell if the branding is built in to the map or user-added, so I lean on the side of caution.

Both should be accepted, but as mistakes can be made, if this one is denied for you please reupload it and let me know so I can approve it specifically.
