We're having a few problems loosing player stats when we change our server.

I think it's tied into when we change the server name. does the site pick up then name and IP? Is there any chance we can view the ip only stats at all?

We kinda need to track hours our recruits spend on the server so it makes this tough to do. is there anywhere else we can see the full hours of each player on the server through these name changes?

I am not quite sure what you are referring to in your bug report. Here are some things that might address some things in there:

When you "change your server," are you getting a new IP or Port for the server? You'll have to re-add the server each time this happens.

Is your server changing game type? You're server rank will be reset if you change the game type of the server (eg BF3 to BF2) or it is automatically switched.

Unless a change of a server name for some reason affects how your server reports stats, there would be no effect on GameTracker tracking. A change of a server name would simple change the name displayed on the server page. If something further is happening, I would expect it to be on the server's end.

There is no feature to view stats for all servers on one IP address on a single server page.

There is no feature to merge player names, but it is on the list of features that will be considered when planning future site updates. You can use the player history search feature to search for the player's name. For example, I could search for "[xs] Burn" on my server to view "[xs] Burn -PVT" and "[xs] Burn -SGT" and "[xs] Burn -GEN."

No, the server has only ever been BF3 and on the same port. WE have never had to re add it to gametracker.

We only added close quarters in last week and then took it away. and changed the name of the server.

It reset all of the player stats on our server.

In what event could a change in server name affect the game tracker stats if they are only retrieved from the database via the ip?

i don;t need to merge names etc. the problem is pureply the player stats resetting.

Changing a server name would never reset stats. It would only change the name displayed on the page.

I would recommend contacting the user bib_clan. Since the server was not deleted and re-added or changed game type, this user must have reset the player stats manually. If this user was not authorized to do so, you may want to take appropriate action like removing their admin abilities and claiming the page yourself so this would not happen again.

No, bib_admin is legit and fine mate.

Thanks for your help. We'll do a bit more digging at the server side and see what is affecting it.
