Gameservers showing offline

Hey,
Our servers all keep showing as offline today but they are clearly online. I can go to the gametracker page and click the "Dead" link next to the status and it will detect it and come online for a few moments but then go offline a little while after.

It's not a firewall issue because I tried disabling that as a whole and have even re-installed the OS on the server. Plus, it was ranked before so it was communicating with the server

Any ideas?

Hello,

I'm sorry, but the problem is most likely firewall related at some level on your network. I am able to scan your servers from my desktop, but unable to scan them from the GameTracker stats servers.

Instructions for whitelisting GameTracker stats servers are located in this thread: http://www.gametracker.com/forums/forum.php?site=1&thread=42545

That makes no sense because it was working just fine and nothing has changed in the network architecture. People from the same datacenter are communicating just fine.

I can click Dead next to server status, then click Update Scanning Parameters and it scans the server, picks up the map, number of people on the server, but looking at the "Last scanned" it seems to never scan again.

Also, other gametrackers/monitors are able to pickup the server fine still.

In any case, I have whitelisted those IP's and still no dice.

Any other ideas?

Hello again,

The initial stats lookup from GameTracker (When clicking "Dead", "Update Scanning Parameters") is sent from a different stats server. Once validated, we continue scanning from a more permanent stats server. In the case of your CSGO servers, it's 108.61.78.149. The scans from 108.61.78.149 are failing to see a response from your CSGO servers.

Other than updating your firewall, I would suggest the following:

1. Check, adjust any flood protection mods that you have installed.
2. You could check at the network level if you are receiving stats requests from GameTracker. These would be coming in from the IP that I have mentioned previously.

Best regards.

Thanks for your responses.

This looks like it is going to be a problem on my datacenter's end as there is a correlation in the IP address ranges not working.

I'll post more as soon as I find out.

This turned out to be a subnet issue.

Since 108.61.78.149 is physically on the same network it doesn't even leave the LAN to contact the box.

Thanks again for the replies.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. I overlooked that the IP's were similar. Thanks for posting your solution.
