Hi,
i just got a brand new IPv6 Address for our gameserver. 2a01:4f8:121:2448::2 But i seems that i cannot add a server wich has an IPv6 address. In my case i would like to add a Quake2 modified server (Yamagi Quake II) wich supports native IPv6. |

Hello,
Congrats on your IPv6 server. At the current time, GameTracker does not support IPv6. If your server also listens on IPv4, you can add that address for the time being. Thank you for notifying us about Yamagi Quake II servers. Best regards. |

Thank you for your response.
Our server is a dual stack config. But the Yamagi Q2 is exclusive bound to the IPv6 address. But we have also a classic q2 on the following ip: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/178.63.75.113:27910/ The IPv6 Quake2 is just an experiment ![]() |

Was told to add this idea hear so basically a repost of http://www.gametracker.com/games/ts3/forum.php?post=400493#post400493
Now that TS3 Server and the Beta Clients Support IPv6 when is the site going to allow using of a hostname instead of only an IPv4 literal address for the join links and such. With a hostname if said hostname has IPv6 and IPv4 setup, clients will prefer IPv6 as they should when they have IPv6, and use IPv4 when they dont. Right now since the site only provides the IPv4 literal, they cannot. And eventually the site should be able to query TS3 servers via IPv6. This should also be considered for all games as more go IPv6 enabled.

Would be great to hide IPv4 address in server details to protect DDoS.
I don't know why, but GameTracker can't handle SRV records, but only A records. ![]() |
