What about a firewall? Do you have one running on your computer and did you open the port in it?

I would like to ask GameTracker to prominently post the ip addresses that they scan from and keep it updated.
Searching for ip address and firewall, the top hit goes to an old post that says Gametracker can't list ip addresses. A newer post shown below has an incomplete list. We had a problem with a Teamspeak3 server. We were being scanned by ip addresses that are not listed in this thread: http://www.gametracker.com/forums/forum.php?site=1&thread=42545 Once the unlisted addresses were added to the firewall rule everything looked. For defense in depth the firewall needs to only open the ports to authorized ip addresses. For the type of service gametracker provides, there is no reason that can't provide an accurate list of scanner ip addresses. |
