Hi,
I've just registered my server for Crysis. Everything seems to be working fine. However, I have a dynamic IP address, and from time to time, the IP of the server changes. I can't seem to find an option on GameTracker to change the IP of the registered/owned server, however, I did find something related to DNS. Can someone please explain that feature or suggest me something else to do with this problem, if existing? Thanks! |

The DNS feature requires a domain that points to your IP. If a DNS address is set for your server, GT will automatically ping that address to determine if the IP address of the server has changed. If it does, the page will automatically update.
If you have your own domain name and can set A records, you can do this yourself. Otherwise, you can search for services that provide DNS service. In some cases, they may have a little program to detect when your IP changes and automatically update the DNS. Another option would be to use the "migrate" feature. However, this would be more hands on as it would require you to claim the new server each time and then migrate. The first one will do this automatically, unless the new address is already on the site. ![]() |
