Hey there,
i need some help.... This was my old Server: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/91.121.85.170:2302/ And this is my new one: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/87.98.251.126:2302/ Both servers are running (the old one will stay for 30 days). I want to transfer the ranking to the new ine via DNS Update. I managed to create a DNS entry for the old server For example: 91.121.85.170 --->DE001.dayzorigins.de Then i updated via "update dns" in GT the new server. But... i think this was the wrong way. Maybe a i had to create an DNS Entry for the new IP (87.98.251.126) and ad the DNS Name at GT in the DNS Update from the old server.... I did this, but now it didnt change backwards. My Goal is to keep the ranking of the old server. Thanks in advance |

You want to set the DNS on the old server page. When GT detects a change in the IP the DNS points to, either on a daily basis or more frequently if the current IP goes down, GT will automatically update the IP of that page.

Great, thanks for the post.
So i dont need to write the DNS also in the new Server via "Update DNS"? (I did it, and know my old server disappeared..., hopefully he will come back) Edit: Maybe a dumb question but after reading your answer agin i asked myself: Do i have to make a DNS redirect to the GT Server Page or just to the IP of my server?

Okey...i think i messed up everything with the DNS entrys.
The old server is not visible anymore in the stats and the new one shows the ip and description of the old one. Can an admin please take a look - i deleted all DNS entrys. Edit: Added the new server again and wil start from zero. - please close - |

If you set up the DNS on the new server and the DNS was pointing to the old server, it would automatically delete that other one (if you claimed it already) and change to that IP.
Basically, you set the DNS for the page and the page updates appropriately. ![]() |
