Current Map incorrect. Indicates "gametype"

Hello,
Are there any GameTracker admins out there that can figure out why this is happening on my DayZ server banner? This has been going on for some time now where the current map is often indicated as "gametype" instead of "Chernarus".

My server IP:Port is 24.178.103.110:2302

Thank you!

Hello,

At the current time, your server is reporting "DayZMod" as the current map. I will check your server periodically to see if I can reproduce the issue where the current map becomes "gametype".

Best regards.

For a DayZ Mod server, in the past it has always reported the map as "Chernarus".

If you take a look at the Favorite Maps, you will see that game tracker for some reason thinks there is 4 different maps running on my server. Two different DayZ Mod maps and two different gametype maps.

The only map that has ever run on this server & port has been the DayZ mod running Chernarus.

I have also just discovered that if I try to change the game type to DayZ it will not let me. I get an error saying the server cannot be scanned, however, the server and port are not blocked, and it is currently online with players on it.

I I also cannot delete the server and re-enter it. It says, "Cannot delete servers with this source type"

I have even left the server offline for about a month and the entry was never removed/deleted by gametracker either.

DayZ and DayZ Mod have different query protocols.

Currently, there is no feature to remove a server when it was automatically added by a source like GameServers.com.

Servers are automatically removed after a variable amount of time based on how long they were on the site. The longer your server was on the website, the longer it will take to be removed automatically.

@Maul, there appears to be different maps being reported in the basic vs extended data in the query response. DayZMod is being reported as the map in the basic data, while Chernarus is being reported as the map in the extended data.
I am retired from GameTracker after 11 years and will not be responsive for support requests.

Good catch.

I will forward this to our development team as a bug report. They will review cloudlogic's server and some others to see if the map reporting needs to be changed for DayZMod and/or DayZ.

I saw the issue described by cloudlogic in his server's history, but the map was always reporting as "DayZMod" when I checked it.

Any updates will be posted in this thread.

I have noticed that map indicates "gametype" when the server has just performed a restart (every 4 hours for this server) and has not had any players join the server yet. With ArmA 2 / DayZ, the server and map have yet to be loaded until the first player has joined the server and loaded completely into DayZ.

For whatever reason, gametracker erroneously sets the map to "gametype" when polling a server before the game has completely started. During this time, gametracker also indicates the player count as 0/0 instead of 0/50. However, the status does indicate "Online".

Hi cloudlogic,

Thanks for the additional info. That is unfortunate to hear. We most likely will not be able to accommodate that behavior, since that appears to be a "bug" with the Arma2/DayZ server itself.

In cases like this, it can be helpful to submit a bug report to the actual game developers.

Hello again,

We are going to be adding support for the new ARMA2 server (1.63) over the next day or so.

If you upgrade your server to use ARMA 1.63, please let us know if you still see the same issue happening.

Best regards.

I have been running on ArmA 1.63 since the DayZ 1.8.1 update came out.
