Admin abuse. How do I report?

Hi,

I have recently, after a long time, started playing ARK again. I found a server who's stats were fun and acceptable by my standards. I managed to play one day into a new reset, until the following chain of events occurred:
1) Walking down beach with Badass T-Rex.
2) Get attacked by turrets.
3) Dinos from turret base, attack me.
4) I kill one of the 4 dinos while trying to defend myself
5) I lose dino and die.
6) Admin logs on, realises he lost a turret and swears at me.
7) I explain to admin that his turret attacked me, and his dinos followed, I lost my stuff and my high dino too.
Admin tells me: "He's coming for me". Spawn himself a Fire Drake, and uses admin power to teleport to me. Kills all my dinos, and when I protest, tells me that: "If I don't like it, I can fuck off".
9) Proceeds to ban me afterward.

Now, I'm not sure what kind of a company you are, but I'd assume that any corporation that cares about its customers and the influence that it carries, would not accept to advertise people who clearly abuse their status. I don't think I've ever had a worse experience in an Ark server, and I don't think I'll ever have one again. I'd like to ask for the removal of the server and its ratings from your service, as I don't see how any proper business would accept it's customers to treat people like this. I hope this doesn't sound too dramatic, I just think that it's a disgrace to support such behavior, and I would think a well established business such as yourself would find such matters quite disturbing.

Thank you for your attention.

Server name: Gods and Peons - X8exp,X15tame,X4Gather,Annunaki - (v249.1)

It appears that you have received a calm and reasonable response from the server admin in the server blog.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not here...
Fair enough, I'm not expecting GameTracker to undo my ban and I totally understand that is outside the scope of this website, I simply expect that any responsible and respectable company would have something to say about the way that people they represent, treat others, which is the reason why I posted here in the first place. If I'm wrong, I apologize to having wasted your time, I just assumed that you'd like and appreciate some feedback about one of your 'clients'. Do please let me know if I'm incorrect, I shall stop.

No sarcasm at all.
I felt it was on their part a measured response.

There are 150000 servers registered on Gametracker.
Nearly 100 supported games (many of which I personally know nothing about, and have no desire to do so)
We are not advertising any of them; simply recording their existence and tracking simple statistics.

I am not sure how would you suggest we proceed if indeed we were inclined to do so?
Simply take your word for it? Or theirs?
What evidence would we consider?

I am quite sure you recognise the impracticability of moderating in every dispute about how a server has been managed across a 'client' base of 150k game/voice servers, not to ignore the multiplicity of languages and cultures involved.

As it is, we (mostly Burn), already deal with hundreds of complaints per week submitted via the 'Report Abuse' button on server and profile pages. The majority of which complaints are either spurious, mistaken, or do not relate to infractions of our site rules.

As with the majority of forums, the day to day administration and moderation is provided on an unpaid voluntary basis. i.e. we have 'day jobs'

As a final point; the owner(s) of a game server have the absolute right to manage their servers in any way they please (accepting the rules of their hosting providers, of which we have no knowledge).

Well managed servers survive and thrive.
Badly managed servers become unpopular and die.
Your best form of protest is to 'vote with your feet' so to speak.

Ok, I'm not sure why you believed it was a measured response given the situation, but what can you do, right?

I've had no prior dealings with GameTracker, and was unaware exactly what their services were, which is why I specifically aimed my post at one Ark server and the way they were being run. Given the layout and how I found the website, I assumed that this is a Server advertising website, where you enter your server, what it is, what it has and what it can offer to people. If the server is automatically picked up by software or other such means, not something you sign up to advertise, then I've wasted my words.
Had it been that, I would've said it's within your website's best interest and goes toward its credibility as a good server to not support ass-hats.

I definitely see the impracticality of doing that, but I could say the same about the impracticality of having a Moderator if moderation is not something thought of very highly, however, I do understand the need of 'staff' to keep your forums clean and flowing, and avoiding them turning into a cesspool.

As to your final point, I'm very aware, I've owned many-a-different-gaming-servers in my time, and ultimately, decisions rested with me, however, you don't rule alone, and being the king of an empty patch of land makes you a king of nothing. Ultimately, I wasn't asking GameTracker to go shut down the server, or undo the decision, however, I do believe that if website devs/owners really care about the fairness and quality of the services that they provide (in this case, advertising for gaming servers), they wouldn't want to spread crap around, and would simply choose not to support someone anymore.

Ultimately, you're right, a well managed server will survive and thrive, but that doesn't mean that someone who feels slighted by the childish and unprofessional behavior of someone in a 'position of power', shouldn't speak out when they feel they were wronged, which is what I have done here.

Anyways, thank you very much for hearing me out and replying, and I hope you have a good day.

Very briefly, I should clarify; yes people (not necessarily the server owner) may add game servers to the site.
So in effect yes, they use the site to advertise themselves.

On the other hand, I only found the site originally because someone else had added my servers, and yet another person told me about them being registered here.

The main issues we would face, as I point out above; is the shear volume of servers and abuse reports that render any form of server behaviour moderation impossible.
