I received an email advising my clan has been retired. I am not sure why, since i am the one who runs everything and never requested it be retired or removed. Can you please restore it, we are a still very active within gametrackers and have not done anything to suggest our clan should be retired. We have been building this for 5 yrs with you guys, I would be very put off to have to redo it all.

Your membership with the clan DeltaForce Brigade has been retired.

Clan page for DeltaForce Brigade:

Thank you for using GameTracker.com

I believe this message will occur when the owner of the clan page removes you from the page. It seems that, since the page is no longer available, the owner of the clan page removed it from the website.

Once data is removed, I believe it is permanently gone.

Our website was hacked yesterday. I am the owner of the clan page and did not do this. I am guessing this means the gametrackers was also hacked and our clan page removed by an unauthorized person. What can we do? There has to be a plan in place for this kind of thing.

I would recommend you change your password if unauthorized users have access to it. Additionally, if you give access to your account to any other users you know, I would ensure that you can trust them. Also, as you may know, it is good practice to not use the same password across multiple websites.

I did not share it, and it was a complex pw that is not used across the boards. We have been around for a decade, so our name is everywhere and its unique. I imagine they hacked anything to do with DFbrigade. So you are telling me, there is nothing you can do to recover our information and restore it? At this time there is no squad page so there is no pw for me to change. To be honest if it cant be restored, I likely will not put the work in to get it back running. You guys should sent a verification email to the owner prior to deleting something entirely from your databases. Hacking is prevalent and that would be an easy way to shut them down, without taking much of your resources to send the email with a link to delete it. I am standing by, please let me know if our info can be recovered at all or not. Thanks

You can try to message deathhasabeard or mike as those are the only two admins who could do it, if at all possible.

Since you are the only user who I remember reporting something like this in GameTracker.com history, it has never proven to be a necessary precaution.

Again, if you have not already done so, I would recommend changing your password. Since you said you were the owner of the GT Clan page, the user would have had to log in to your account. Else, if you logged in to a public computer or let others use your computer while you remained logged in, that could pose a potential risk.

I messaged them both days ago, I need to update the FBI if this is going to be one on the list of sites. I am pursuing for criminal charges and degradation of character. Can you check with either of them and ask them to read my message from last week. The hackers have since stolen personal info from me, charged my cards and other things, this is a federal invesitgation now. We need to know what can be done here, and we need all logs of the incident if you have them.

You would have to go through the appropriate legal channels to obtain logs. Unfortunately, we can't just give out whatever private information is stored on the site for privacy reasons based on any user's request. The lawyer(s) in this "federal investigation" should already know this, though.

If users have hacked into your accounts to get credit card information, I would recommend contacting those websites. Since you don't appear to have a premium account, I am assuming your CC information is not here.

I do not have a premium account. And an attorney is not involved, the FBI is. I can give you the info needed to contact them if needed.

But mainly I want to know if this account can be restored as per our previous discussions in this string. I contacted the two you advised me too, to no avail. I was not requesting you share the info with me, although you stated it can only be done by the owner, as such since I am the owner, it would stand to reason you could share said information with me as someone who hacked my account and then used it, did so under the pretense they were indeed me and as such I would have a legal right to that information.

At any rate, at this point, i would escalate this to someone a bit higher on the chain as since a federal investigation is taking place, and your site is one of the many that was compromised, AND I seem to not be getting anywhere in regards to contact with the "right" people either in regards to restoring the deleted information or those who hacked my account to do the deletion. It also appears it is of little concern to you, which is disheartening since it was your site that was hacked. In addition, when it was hacked, our info was changed to righttorebel clans info, and you guys dont seem to be phased by that.

If GameTracker was hacked, I'd assume you would not only be the one that was affected. There has been no other indication of an issue for anyone other than you. Your password was likely obtained by other means, such as a person who saw it written down, saved on your computer, used a keylogger, etc.

If the clan is now named as right to rebel, do you know the user "wrath-brig-"? He is the only user who is a member of that group, so it must have been him. Did he possess ownership of the clan page in the first place? I noticed the news post on the clan page is also by this user, which, by the date, would indicate that he/she held ownership of the clan page in January 2009. If he/she owns the clan page, this person can modify the page as they want to.

You could also try posting the message in the bug reports forum as they may see it quicker. However, as I said before I do not believe there are backups. Additionally, if he had ownership of the clan page the whole time, he can remove users and modify the page like this if he chooses.
