First, if you have v1.1 it might be better to just uninstall and then download from that website you listed because it has up-to-date settings (the torrent version is the most up to date).

If you don't want to do that, download v1.6 full install and this should be enough to play on the servers.


To play online you have to download GameTracker Lite here: https://www.gametracker.com/downloads/


then you can go to the Battlefield 1942 server list here: https://www.gametracker.com/search/bf1942/?sort=3&order=DESC


And you will click on the yellow "JOIN" button to which ever server you want to play at.
