ATF's Hump'em and Dump'em is a west coast public server that has recently grown in attendance due to competitor servers fading away. It arguably has one of the best map rotations available for 42 pubbing. The increasing chances of an evening or weekend wait for an open slot to play is a testament to players STILL looking to BF1942 for fun & challenging play.

**Some of the drawbacks of ATF's Hump'em and Dump'em:

- A 'no camping uncap' rule is vague/disproportionately enforced. The red circle in the largest minimap view is commonly referred to as the uncap area. Confusion and contention can result because ATFs boundary differs w/ maps and admin.
- A west coast connection leaves east coast players learning to lead/follow, and out of luck on bunny-hopping and zigzagging. If you're playing high-ping be prepared to go exp or zook!
- Regs can rag on newer/lesser skilled players like it's a clan match. Current 42 servers can't forget that $9.99 Anthology 'noobs' are the life blood of this game now. Without them we'd have no one new to shoot at!
- Needs a ZERO tolerance for glitching policy. I saw a player given a 1 day ban for glitching to hold a flag, then return to get kicked for glitching again later. Glitching ruins the game and discourages new players.
- Admin in game isn't structured at times and a decision/expectation one day could be different the next. I have seen inconsistency become a distraction on some occasions.
- Some Admin tolerate, participate, and encourage online bullying against specific players.
- PTK (Penalty for Team Kill) is active here, and can at times be used abusively.*

**Now onto the positives of ATF's Hump'em and Dump'em:

- A good web presence at www.atfclan.com where you can follow the clan & server.
- ATF Events (loosely arranged games where there are specific rules, maps, and objectives) are often OPEN TO GUESTS. They're usually fun, different and challenging!
- Map changes are often as easy as requesting/ discussing with admin
- Excellent map rotation that offers variety and balance keeping a majority of visitors interested and playing.
- PTK is active here and is an excellent way of letting users determine if they've been deliberately killed by a smack player.*
- The server runs well (with expected bf42 server challenges) and rarely crashes. It's rarely, if ever, completely down for an extended period of time.
- West coast location is $money$ if you got a good hookup. I've seen super-low pings from peeps over there!
(* PTK- is both a positive and negative depending on how admin handles it)

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 round house kicks to the face! (Room to improve, but try it out!) Newcoming & remaining loyal BF42 players come to ATF expecting the best.

ATF's Hump'em and Dump'em Server Info...

Since I reviewed this server originally, PunkBuster has been disabled. ATF has stated that this is a temporary technical issue. I only note this as I do not review non-PB servers. This is apparently just a temporary status change for ATF.


**Update: The PB problem is resolved it's back up and running.

These guys basically allow and encourage this to happen to players that they decide they don't like, or simply when they're bored and want to pester someone. I'm not saying don't play here, but you will learn quickly that some people are not worth playing. Good Luck.

ATF_StevieWonder is shown leading his buddy Kiaowas on the opposite team to me (LINK) for yet another kill.

Last night after several minutes of hurling insults at me (which I can't post here) in game-chat for no apparent reason (nothing had been an issue in game), ATF_SmedleyButler** Team wounded (LINK) and then Team Killed (LINK) me.

ATF_Smedley Butler** started calling me a cheater. (Days earlier GoodDayToDie mistyped my player number when he caught a glitcher. GoodDayToDie corected the mistake, but Smedley chose to ignore it and kick me anyway. He has since called me a cheater in game every opportunity that he gets.) Last night, he randomly kicked me with the message "Caught using map exploits." I believe he is deliberately feeding the falsehood that I have done something dishonest because he simply doesn't like me.

Intentionally killing/wounding fellow team members or vehicles is not allowed.

Quietly and consistently there are great members & guests that play ATF's Hump'em and Dump'em. This is basically a good server, but it is on the brink of success or decline depending on the path that is chosen by it's owners.

When you hit "tab" to pick a kit your fonts are hard to read, that's usually because you don't have optimum monitor resolution. Try a new monitor resolution setting or two and see if it improves.

The video gets translated to a different ratio when it's converted to mp4. But I could use a bigger monitor, no doubt!

Unfortunately I was arbitrarily banned tonite by ATF_Euphorbia, so I probably won't get to test your theory anytime soon on ATF's server. The kick was 'Disrespecting an Admin' though he had just joined and I hadn't spoken or even shot at him yet! When I rejoined this was the explanation I got before I was kicked AGAIN!
