Hello everyone,

Installed BF2 again yesterday and have been trying to connect to a server since. Updated to patch 1.50, installed Gametracker Lite and added to firewall. If I launch a game from Gametracker, BF2 starts up but then says:
'Connection to server lost'. Since I can not find a clear answer on this problem I'm asking this. Maybe it has something to do with me not having an online account in BF2. When I try to make one in Battlefield 2 it crashes.

Any help? Thanks a million!

This is what you need to do for a correct BF2 installation:

1. Install BF2 with your normal DVD or digital download
2. Download and install Patch 1.41 ( download link)
3. Download and install Patch 1.5 ( download link )
4. Update your Punkbuster ( download link )

Since GameSpy Shutdown you also need BF2Hub.com Client to play BF2:

1. Download and install the newest BF2Hub Client ( download link )
2. Click the "Backup Accounts" button
3. Click "Save selected CD-keys and Accounts to BF2Hub Network now"
4. Wait until all selected accounts/CD-keys have a green background
-- Repeat Step #3 and #4 until all your accounts/CD-keys are successfully backed up
5. Click "Enable BF2Hub Network"
6. Start your BF2 game and play with your existing (or new) accounts, ranks and stats.

After you have done the steps above you can also join servers directly with Gametracker Lite!
