I am adding this topic on behalf of all the players from The Southern Hemisphere. We are constantly and consistantly discriminated against for our ping.

A few salient points

1 Most of us played BF2 and BF2142 on our own local servers for many years until they became unpopulated with the release of games like Bad Company 2. Our markets are smaller. Consequently there are a few hundred BF2 and BF2142 players out there that cannot play

2 The ping kicking practice was a good tool 7-8 years ago when most players where on 56K modems for games like BF1942 and BFVietnam and a ping of 300 did in fact lag a server, this is no longer true most of us are on at least 1M LAN connections now, but the practice continues.

3 So now we find our own local servers either empty all the time or non exsistant So we go looking for a game. Most Servers, particularly the American servers don't even give you a chance, it just kick for high ping with the Admin laughing at you. HAHA noob get off my F****** server.

4 I do have a few European servers where after I have explained these things to the head admin I get to play. Guess what? I have played on these servers and the 'Low pingers' are astonished when I finish regularly near the top of the scoreboard...wow he did it with a ping of 300+

5 The truth is that low ping is no substitute for skill and experience, i am not blowing my own trumpet here as I am not alone. other Southern Hemisphere players also achieve good results on Northern servers. The idea that ping = lag is an anachronism that deserved to die with the 56k modem.

6 A challenge if you are a northerner do not believe me, find a Southern server and play for a while (if you can find one). You will find that your game play is little diminished and that your impact on the server is negligible.

After you have tried that, try to imagine that all the northern servers where gone and you could only play in the south, but you find most servers kicking you for high ping. Maybe you will get where I am coming from.

This is not an angry rant, nor am I looking to single anyone out, all I want is to play the game and have a little fun. Mostly It is to help my fellow Southerners find a place in the sun. I have found a few servers who took a chance and we have that fun.

Give it a try, who knows you might just find that we southerners arn't so bad after all. (Argentina, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and many more)

im with you man. im From East Africa and i have a few servers that i can play with a ping of 280 and as you said i fin9sh on the top sometime. but there are some servers which i get a ping of 260 and i get kicked right away.. at the moment i dont have much choice that just the Ghost Town or Super@infantry thanks to the Admin for not being mean. coz the other Super@ servers i never get a chance. karkand and some other awesome servers they just kick you there on. please guys should at least let 350 avarage before they kick you.

It is such a pain in the arse when you get kicked from nearly every server because of high ping (Ranging from 210-310), especially when you hear the whinging that comes from other players saying "the lag is screwing my game up", there are a few that dont discriminate ping and here they are, F&F servers, NRU (No fly server), I have never been kicked from these servers even with a regular high ping...happy gaming
