i just downloaded BF2 yesterday and i can only play like 2 maybe 3 servers online PVP and all the rest a colored red, i have the 1.41 patch but i dont know what i need to get into the other red servers where there are more people and better maps. someone please help?

I would suggest downloading the 1.50 patch and installing it first. You can get it here: http://www.fileplanet.com/204626/200000/fileinfo/Battlefield-2-Patch-v1.5

After you install that, then you should see a lot more maps in white which you should be able to play.

If you're looking for an add on mod for battlefield 2. I would suggest AIX 2.0 client as well as the core maps. I run an AIX server here and enjoy the game a lot.

Go here: http://www.aixtended.com/ After you get there, on the left side under Downloads, click client files. From the "Download Now Client Files 2.0" section, under HOST, scroll down to PlanetBattlefield-Fileplanet. then on the right side get both files: AIX_2.0_Core_Mod.exe and AIX_2.0_Core_Maps.exe. You can of course download them from any of the other sites listed there, fileplanet gave me my best download times so I went with them.

Those are the basic starter maps and files associated with AIX. When you get them installed, you will be able to play AIX. I run a most of the core maps with my server, and a couple more maps from other places. If you're interested, visit my site http://bite-me.clanservers.com for more information. I also have a link to explain how to get your unlocks in AIX on my site as well. Not required but if you want all weapons it does come in handy. Anyhoo, hope this helps.
