I need to claim my server but there seems to be no option to do so. I have manually gone into the server config files via ftp and changed it from "Another Gameservers.com Server is Born" to my own name, but upon restarting the server it reverts back.

Startup command line, console log and server configuration are not available. When i try to access the server configuration through the GT website i get a message that looks like this "Unable to retrieve config file: Could not retrieve /68.232.182.57:16567///pb/pbsv.cfg<BR>"

If someone could please help me, ive used GT premium before to host BF2142 and its worked fine. ive even tried terminating the server and trying a different location (ive tried them all) but nothing works.

You can contact the support team at the email in the premium member area if your config is not saving/showing properly.

I contacted support and they said gametracker does not provide server support and someone on the forums would have to resolve the issue :/

You are describing two issues in your original post:

1. You upload the config with the update server name variable; however, the config will not upload there as the server name is not changing.
2. You tried to access a configuration file through the web editor but you are receiving an error that it could not load.

Since this occurs after a reinstall and location switch, it sounds more like a technical issue with the service, unless you just don't know for sure what you are doing. If the issues are as I describe, contact support and tell them the issue specifically if the problem is out of your control, like I have described in my post.

Otherwise, you may be best off at forums.gameservers.com or a BF2142 forums since this game does not have much of any forum traffic here.

Ok, you are using Gameservers.com...so, log in to your control panel at https://my.gameservers.com/home/ click on info next to your server description, then look towards the top and click on the config tab, there you can change the servers hostname without editing your server.cfg directly, but beware, your server will restart when you save changes...hopefully that all works for the specific game you host.
