Must I install some patches to use call of duty black ops?

This is a Steam Exclusive game. Steam automatically updates Call of Duty Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2. You MUST have steam to play this game online. ALL updates come from Steam. If your steam didn't update the game right click call of duty black ops and click properties. Then click the files tab and verify the integrity of the game and it will replace corrupt or missing files.
