Is there something wrong with GT ? how does a server achieve the below rank ?
Highest (past month): 166th Lowest (past month): 9928th so it has gone from almost 10,000 to 166 in less than a month ? I have a couple servers and it took months and months of the server being full for almost 24hr periods to get it to the rank it is now, but this server is created a month ago and goes straight up to 166th ? how is this possible ? Is there some kind of rank hacking or something that can be done to GT ? I have noticed that the server in question has the exact same name as another server that has very high rank .... even though it's not the same game. One is world at war the other is black ops.

Rank has always been determined by the data in the past month. If the server is more popular than yours, of course it will have a better rank and get there quicker.

burn wrote: How can a server be "more popular" than a server that is full 24/7 ? it's not possible to be any more full than full, and the server graph on the server in question shows it as being not full for a large amount of time. So in one month your saying a server may go from last to 100th in the world when other servers that are full 24/7 are below it ? If that is the case then GT really is no measure of a servers "popularity" at all .... how does it work ? |

It's hard to give you a clear answer without a server to look at.
Has your server had downtime in the past week? GT algorithms determine rank on the data in the past month, looking closer at the past week's popularity. Popularity doesn't really mean a straight line on the graph. Does the server have more slots? That would be easier to maintain a higher average player count without being full 24/7. Just because a server is constantly full doesn't mean it should be the "best" server. Think of a 2 slot server, if this were always populated with two players at all times of the day, should it be number 1? I would hope not. I think the 32 slot server that keeps a steady 24 players should have a better rank. ![]() |
