set com max fps 45-250
I keep getting that error when I try to play in the pro-mod servers...any ideas? I can get in the game but i can't see anything.

What could be happening is that your max fps isn't set within an acceptable range.

If you're running the game on an older system, you may be set to 30 fps in order to keep the game from playing too choppy. If you're on a crazy gaming rig, it might be set too high. Or, you just might not have it set at all.

What it looks like is that the server requires you to have your fps set between 45 and 250. The reason for it could be anything since it's a mod. Usually it is to limit your maximum frames-per-second so that the server doesn't have a lag-spike when you fps goes up or down by a large number very quickly. The server lags in order to keep the other players on it in sync with you. Most of the times when everyone on a server has a good ping, but players are lagging, it is because someone's game is causing it, not the server.

When you get your game started up, but before you connect to the server... press ~ to get into your console. Then type /com_maxfps "60" then press ENTER. This will set your max FPS to 60. Try connecting again and see if that helps. If you can connect with no issues, then add the line to your mp_config file located within your profile folder. 60 might not be the best setting for you computer, so you may have to play with the setting to get it where you want, but 60 is always a good starting point.
