I have a fresh install of COD 4 on Vista.
Installed 1.6 patch.
Installed punkbuster and updated.
Still no servers detected,

I set up a port forward profile 28960 BT internet 2.0 HUB.
Still no joy. I am from the UK

Also I am confused.
I am finding COD4 uses different ports.

Someone who runs a server has given me this to try a manual connection 109.70.148.121:28960

But I found this
UK 193.47.83.227:28935


So this is a different port 28935 & 28960
Why is this and what else can I try.

I took it next door, plugged ethernet cable in, used their router and it worked. . Took it back round to mine, plugged my ethernet cable in and it carried on working, for now at least.

Now I have switched everything off and swithed it all back on again ti won't work. Can't find any servers again.

the same thing happend my friend, he only gets internet when someone from another house plugs in a internet cable in his router and sits there and plays, after i leave the place its like 3 days then its gone again

Let me know if he wants the correct port forward settings. (Beleive it or not, a guy in an Indian call centre sorted it fo rme).
I had to turn off BT firewall too. Also UPnP should be enabled.
