Counter Strike 1.6 Home

I am using Windows 8. I have installed CS 1.6. The problem is when i double click it to run, a processing symbol appears and then nothing happens. Even there is no entry in task manager. I tried opening it as administrator also. No error also appears. Its just blank. Plz help.

What drivers ? can u plz elaborate. Actually, sometimes when i restart my computer, CS works fine. But if i close the CS and start , this problem starts again....

Right click on the cs 1.6 icon on the desktop and then click properties.Then go to the Compatibility and then tick then " Run this application blah blah" and choose "windows 2000".
