hi i got a problem just got my cable connection and router and i port forwarded it but my friends can't connect to my server with my private ip and my public ip i can't even add it in gametracker can u please help me

Did you confirm that the server is scannable? eg. you may be able to use one of those "port checker" websites or you could also scan your server using HLSW on a computer outside the network the server is on.

You should also make sure that the server is set up to run off of the public IP, if it matters.

If you run a firewall in addition to your router's built in protection, you will need to make the necessary updates to open your server port there too.

When the add server process fails, there is an error message that should help you out. Please review that message and solve the problem. I would expect that you failed to open the ports in your firewall or have not portforwarded in your router, if applicable.

hi i tried one of those port checkers it says port 27015 is not open and i disabled my firewall and it still the same thing and to make the server run by the public ip instead it starts with 192 instead i am not sure it may help but my firewall is controlled by norton virus 2011 but i allowed the program through it and put a rule to allow the port 27015
