i would go tpo the page you claimed the server on and then at the top of the page just above the server info, click manage.

go to no-ip.com
make a free dns name.
example mine is:
shamserver.no-ip.info
it will link to your external ip address.

i also have shamxxxx.dns.net
(you can have 3 free dns redirects)

You can then add your new free dns name to your server page.
and it can be used instead of your ip address. It also updates to your new ip address if your ip address changes "provided" you also download duc-noip from no-ip.com
duc-noip sits on your computer and will update your dns name with your new ip address at specific time intervals (you can set it to any time frame you want)

this was most useful in dial up days where you would get disconnected automatically after 2 hours and get reconnected with a different ip address.
It is however useful today still as most static ip addresses are only static provided you do not disconnects your mode/router for more than a few minuets. this is a issue with tcpipv4 rather than anything else because there simply arent that many ip addresses available..
so some one else can take your ip address if you were both offline for a set amount of time.

the dynamic allocation of the ip from the server will eventually release your ip address if you are not using it and some one else can take it.
it is easier for them to do it automatically after a set time like this than to manually release an ip address every time some one cancels there service contract.
it means less over heads for the isp, but it does mean that its difficult to guarantee you will always have the same ip address unless you always keep your modem/router on, or if you do turn it off you only do it for a minuet or 2 at the most. And even then you could be unlucky and end up with a new ip address if you turned it off just before they refreshed the ip's in use, and didnt turn it back on untill some one else has been allocated yours.
