My IP Address changed. Which sucks. In any case the new one was another server at some point. The old server address/name appears in the list and is just dead and falling in the ranks. How do I make game tracker recognize the new server address? Am I doing something wrong when I submit the IP and relevant information? Why is gametracker unable to observe the new server? Does changing IP address on a non claimed server make game tracker unusable? If so, what is a good alternative?

One option: Add the new information at http://www.gametracker.com/servers/

Second option: Setup a DNS address on the old server page (you must have it claimed to do so), and then update the DNS IP and GameTracker will automatically update the page to the new IP when it catches it.

My server will not update after trinity changed the ip address of the server.

What do you actually put in the DNS to update it, is it the current ip address or something else from it?

Naturally I tried re-posting it several dozen times before posting here, but since another server occupied the new address before, and since the old server was never claimed, it appears I can no longer be a game tracker user. Which sucks. And of course that is why I posted. So although I appreciate the reply, its redundant. I assume its setup this way to prevent abuse. Too bad it also alienates legitimate users like myself. I'd go as far as to say I am being penalized for not claiming my server. This situation is FUBAR and I am dissapoint. Please, if there is a way to resolve this, I am legit and just want my server to show up again. I promise to claim this time. :-/

If you can provide a good method of proving someone owns a server that is currently "dead," GameTracker would definitely consider adding something like that in a future update. However, we are not going to check invoices or anything else like that.

Like I said before, you can get tracking your server again you just have to add it on http://www.gametracker.com/servers/ and it will be tracked.

Ok, not sure if you read my post. I have tried to add my new ip address and it says its currently been used.

My new server ip address is 78.129.157.190:25400 and we were list as this rank before Trinity changed the ip address

Learn To Fly - Firestorm 24/7 UK - 150% Tickets - Fast Respawn
Address: 91.121.7.136 Port: 47200 Status: Dead
GAME SERVER RANKING
Game Server Rank: 1992nd (33rd Percentile)
33rd Highest (past month): 576th Lowest (past month): 1992nd

Can't believe you don't have the option to change the ip address, even if I upload a file for you to check with lets say in a 5 minute window. So what are we suppose to do now when people want to track there progress....

I was responding to the OP, since this was his/her thread. Instead of hijacking it, post your own if you need any more assistance.

By the way, a DNS address is a domain name. Like server1234.gametracker.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System

In order to claim ownership of your server you must temporarily rename it to:
GameTrackerClaimServer
This server is currently named:
DayZOverwatch - (0.2.5/103718) [RECRUIT][GMT+6] Private Hive - angel in hell admin gundrops and more | DayZ.ST

Please check your game server config file, restart the server, and try again.

That is the message I get after renaming my server as per your instructions. This crap does not work worth a damn. No disrespect intended. But it doesn't. So frustrating. And from what I can see, everyone who has ever had a server change IP goes through it and many seemingly just give up on you. I don't have that option however.

Is there someone I can pay to correct this "PROBLEM"?

EDIT: I had DayZ.ST remove the branding and made sure the server was simply named GameTrackerClaimServer. It still failed.

Where in the $&()@ does gametracker get this name from? It does not even exist!!

DayZOverwatch - (0.2.5/103718) [RECRUIT][GMT+6] Private Hive - angel in hell admin gundrops and more | DayZ.ST

And why won't it claim for FFS.

Gametracker is a valuable tool and I like it and respect those behind it, but please believe me when I say that this process here for an IP change is a complete and total disaster. Im so upset with the situation ATM.

So after hours of trying to resolve this I surrendered and did the IP change again. This solved everything of course and I was able to claim the server without concern.

My only clue as to the cause of these problems.
The JOIN port and the MySQL port were both 3306.

*SHRUGS

That was, and still is a huge pain in the neck. I hope my players find their way home.
