On August 27, 2026, we will try the experiment again and see if we can let more than the usual player limit join our Day of Defeat: Source server. As a reminder, the game normally supports only 33 players.

We have been working on this experiment since March. In the past, you had to install a custom file to join, but this time you will not need anything. You will be able to connect directly from the original vanilla game. We worked incredibly hard to make this possible in a game that officially supports only 33 player slots.

Hopefully, the experiment will be a success.
