I've experienced this before.
The bottleneck of constant FPS drops includes things like malware, viruses etc. Get an antivirus software and do a deep scan. If you detect nothing; do a 'system restore'. --- More about system restore - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Restore Step by step instructions - https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/ |

skyrocket91 wrote: It could also be due to hardware issues. Maybe your CPU is throttling. Check the heat-sync and make sure it hasn't come loose or is not full of dust. Have you been into BIOS and played about with the fan settings or installed something like afterburners? Also; You have to check your motherboard CPU power support. For example - if your Motherboard supports only 95w processors then your 125w processor won't work good and you will get fps drops in all games when the CPU starts working full power. A way to fix this is to lower the power consumption of your CPU which can be done in windows power settings or ATI control panel. It won't completely fix the problem but it will lower the fps drop. Anyways, it's not safe to have a 125w CPU in a 95w motherboard cause the CPU can damage the motherboard. --- Edit - Firstly ensure that it's not an issue within your system. Once you don't find any viruses and you have no luck with the system restore - It's most likely to be a hardware issue.

Good luck! If the issue is still recurring, let me know and i'll let you know more about some other possible hardware issues that can cause FPS drops.
