GameTracker is incompatible with the latest releases of JC2

It is worth pointing out that something has broken with the way that Gametracker pulls in stats from JC2MP. This broke two versions ago, hence why every server shows up with zero players.

I don't know the details of how you were gathering the stats before, so I'm unsure whether you are still able to do so now, but it would be good if you could update your stats fetching system so that this game actually worked.

I was prompted to write this because my server was just completely removed due to inactivity (on GameTracker at least, I still get a few players a day in JC2 itself).

Thanks

Did they change the query protocol yet again?
I am retired from GameTracker after 11 years and will not be responsive for support requests.

Please send me the link to the change log / documentation that would provide additional information on what they are using now so that I can forward it on.

I am not able to locate information on how they changed from Gamespy4 to another.

Spoke with a couple of mods and apparently with update 0.1.2 (the update where gametracker stopped working properly) they switched from OGP to GameSpy4. Is gametracker definitely using GameSpy4?

Yes, over a month ago support for GS4 was added for JC2.

Hmm, strange issue.

However, I think you can agree that something isn't working right, as gametracker is showing 0 players all the time. It would be interesting to know what JC2MP version the servers still listed are, I imagine they're 0.1.0 or 0.1.1.

Thanks for your help so far.

Located a possible issue that may cause the player count to show as 0s. I'll try to update this if more information is available.

btw. There are some that are still using ogp and some that are using GS4. The servers don't seem to report consistent version info in the variables so its difficult to see which are which version without manually checking each.

Just a quick follow-up to say that there are no visible players on gametracker still.

As for OGP, the only server that will be running OGP, are ones that were not updated, and being that you can't get old client versions (it's only distributed through Steam), they don't actually need to be listed, although I suppose there's no reason to remove OGP support if you don't have to.

Just Cause 2 Multiplayer uses GS4.
You can find query example here.
