Is OptiFine Falling Behind?

Is anyone else still relying on OptiFine for shaders and performance? I’ve always liked it, but honestly, it’s getting a bit frustrating. According to minecraftshader.com, the 1.21.5 update is still only 45% complete… Meanwhile, Iris has been fully ready for a long time. At this point, is there even a real reason to stick with OptiFine?

I’ve noticed OptiFine feeling slower to update, especially with all the new 1.26 features like baby mob tweaks and the furnace recipe book. I’ve been using tools tied to the update info itself to keep track of what’s changing, and you can check out this link if you want to see the stuff that helped me figure out which mods still play nicely with the newer systems.
