Ten Ongoing and Upcoming Beta’s to Look Out For

Video game beta’s have been popping up left, right and center in the past while and it’s becoming harder and harder to keep track of all these amazing games that developers want you to try out before they release.

Fear not. We’ve rounded up 10 beta’s that are currently accepting registration, some of which are currently underway and some of which are soon to hit the public.

Ravaged
You can keep an eye out for beta keys to enter this post-apocalyptic vehicle-based first-person shooter by 2 Dawn Games. Good luck! You can learn more about Ravaged here.



Command & Conquer
As we recently reported, the brand new free-to-play platform of Command & Conquer is now accepting beta registrations for Generals 2, powered by the Frostbite 2 engine and developed by BioWare Victory.



SimCity
EA’s latest Sim City title is now in closed beta.



Planetside 2
Having just recently started, the beta for this PC-based MMO first-person shooter by Sony Online Entertainment can be now be accessed.



War of the Roses
With already over 100,000 sign-ups, the War of the Roses beta is well underway to establishing a strong community in this medieval third-person action game by Fatshark.



Dust 514
A beta for this sci-fi first-person shooter by CCP games that lets players interact with the MMO Eve Online announced last May is still underway and is worth the look.



Far Cry 3
Though recently delayed, a beta for Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3, available on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, is still awaiting confirmation but is still surely happening.



The War Z
Another post-apocalyptic zombie survival-horror MMO to keep an eye on. Hammerpoint Interactive has announced an upcoming closed beta for which players can secure access to by pre-ordering.

FireFall
Red 5 Studios’ FireFall is a blend of MMORPG and MMOFPS elements and is now accepting beta registrations.

RaiderZ
Described as a free-to-play monster hunting MMO published by PerfectWorld, RaiderZ is now in closed beta.

UPDATE:

Rekoil
A game that is focused on getting back to the core of gaming - or in other words old school gaming without the kill streaks and other distractions. You will see infantry based combat across a number of differing locales, Rekoil has something for everyone - Rekoil is a game made for those who desire balanced FPS gameplay. Expect public dedicated servers and mod tools. Beta planned in 2012.
