Hi,

a few days ago I've played q3 online an those guys on the server seemed to have fun while not shooting each other or ctf. They told me to type something in the console like "/somewhat... 9999999999".
After that I saw what they enjoyed: every shoot of me and the others leave static lines in different colours.

Now I can't play long because of those lines, and I can't see any enemy.

How can I get this bloody thing undone?

About your problem, I never saw nothing like that before and the only thing i can suggest is to reinstal q3 or instal other
version for example this- http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2023213 q3 prof.pack tons of maps,mods,utilities and other stuff...

I dont know exactly but settings and favorites kept in:\Quake III Arena\BASEQ3\q3config.cfg
So I advise you do next:
1.Instal q3 in new any other directory (but don't delete the old q3directory)
2.Copy \Quake III Arena\BASEQ3\q3config.cfg file from the old directory to the same place in new dir.
3.Try to play q3 from the new dir. the settings and favorites must be saved.

If everything OK. delete the old q3dir.If not... we will continue thinking!...


About linked site, that was link to the torrent tracker and if you realy want to downl. that huge pack(4.98GB) I can send you an e-mail with torr.file and Instruction.

So I did as you've said.

I saved the config file and installed q3 in a new folder.
But when I start it, there comes an infotext:
User Interface is version 4, expected 3!

And now?

Funny enough, now I've tried to play 'the old' version....
the lines have gone!!!

Next time don't re-install just for a new setup made the q3 console ;p You did /cg_railTrailTime "999999999" the default value was 400 and the higher the longer the rail trail will stay. So, you just had to set it back to 400.

but how can this re-installation helped if the old version runs now without the lines or trails?

Maybe the new install which have default configs deleted the altered ones from the old install.
