Alright, so I'm sure you all cringed when you read the title - another guy who didn't read all of the documentation and wants quick and easy help. But I've been researching this for a while now and couldn't find a fix, so I'm asking for some assistance.
The problem: I've installed the mod tools bundle to the correct location and all that jazz, but when I try to run zero editor, I get the dreaded runtime error. I'm running windows 7, so just on a hunch, I re-ran zero editor in compatibility mode (specifically windows xp service pack 2) and this time instead of the runtime error, I get "config.ini not found, unable to start". I've tried all the other solutions out there - adjusting res, 3d analyze, checking the color settings, etc, ect. I even went as far as to install windows xp in virtual box and try everything there. And yes, trust me, config.ini is in the correct folder (right next to zero editor actually). SO, if you have a solution (for either the runtime error or the config.ini error) that worked for you that you think might help, by all means post it. BUT if you never had the issues and your zero editor just worked, do me a favor and post your os, graphics card type, and if possible, what version of c++ runtime you have. I'm trying to self diagnose the issue and figure out what is causing the problem, so that I both help myself and others who are unable to mod. Thank you for replies, and apologies if this post breaks forum rules in any way, though I don't believe it does... ![]() |
