When one of our guys comes on vent, his name is "lock". Always has been, and still shows as "lock" when you actually look at Ventrilo.

When hes on though, when I check our website to see the Ventrilo Banner (Hosted by Gametracker)

Lock displays as XXXXXXXX

Hope I worded this and made sense,
Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Only does it for this one person.

When does he usually come on?

If you download a tool like HLSW, you can add your server to it and scan the server from your local computer (hlsw.org). In this case, you can see how your server reports the player name to see where the bug lies. If there is a bug with GT, please make sure to post in the bug reports forum.

i have the same issue, 2 players who join our vent display as XXXXXXXX instead of the names on game tracker banner, but it is correct on ventrilo. any ideas on how to fix this.

What was your result when you compared the online player list (when it show the name as XXX to what you see on a tool like HLSW in my last post?

What are the player names affected and what is the server link?

a quick screenshot of what hlsw shows. not used this program before. any ideas. player name thats effected is mine "Kaos" and another called "Artreyus"

I just went to the right click menu -> Server Admin -> Server properties and unchecked the user names box. My server then reported me as XXXXXXXXX. Check to see if that is the problem, but if you actually have it unchecked, I'd imagine it would do that to everyone, not just two players.

I just searched ventrilo.com and they don't have any useful information.

i have not got a choice of server admin on the right click memu. i have checked every option and cannot find anything remotely like a user names check box. My HLSW version 1.3.3.7b

Thankyou for your time and help mate, i have managed to fix this problem. It was a tick box on the server login settings on ventrilo program that had been accidentally untick "show login name in remote status requests" its now ticked and works fine
