Ventrilo should auto refresh on a Joomla 3.2.x site?

Hi there,

I'm trying to problem solve why my vent server is not auto-refreshing on a new site - I've got a few of these post going in different places.

I'm basically hoping that someone can confirm that on a new Joomla 3.2 site, that a standard iframe for Vent on the front page of it should refresh automatically? Well it's not regardless of what I try and so am after either confirmation that it should work like this (possibility by requesting this feature be enabled by my host?) or any help anyone can give to be honest as I'm out of ideas.

I've had it working fine in the past on other hosting providers (I'm on a free one for testing at the moment) and with older versions of Joomla too in the past and it simply worked without any fiddling at all from what I recall. I've tried using the in-built Joomla template and some others too but there's no change at all - after you login to the site you have to hit F5 to get it to refresh. I've enabled it on gametracker via my Vent host's link and looked through the vent server config files as well, but to no avail.

Any help gratefully received.

You said you had it working fine on other hosting providers? Who is your current provider? Also what is different between providers different scripts? Ports? whats different that could make it act like so?

I went with the free hosting offer from x10hosting initially due to the cPanel back end and a couple of favourable reviews from people. If things look good and it grows I'll be going with a paid hosting plan.

Script wise I couldn't tell you - it's been a good while since I set up a site previously and I was never that proficient to be honest, hence the use of a CMS.

Ports - I've tried looking through the host's faq and there's no mention of them.

I've turned off Joomla's caching and the module is the prebuilt iframe by the way.

I've posted this on the above host's forums and on gametracker too under their Vent section...

Thanks

The GameTracker HTML banner does not auto-refresh in itself. You'll have to reload it in order to view any updates to it. However, the GameTracker website server info page does auto-update whenever it scans the server.

Now, if someone created a Joomla plugin that will automatically reload the banner every xx seconds, you may need to contact the author of it.
I am retired from GameTracker after 11 years and will not be responsive for support requests.

I found a couple of mods for Joomla 2.5 with the refresh time configurable and they worked on my Joomla 3.2.x site. It's just a shame that even with a matching colour scheme they both looked pants. Hey ho, such is life in this game it would seem.

Thanks for you time.
