The reason we are planning to spend $180 is because that will pay for our redirect for 5 whole years (it works out to $3/month, but is paid in advance.) In addition it would give us hosting for two websites, vgmp3.org, which I use for the redirect and for hosting my UT downloads, and for disastrousconsequences.com, which so far, Druid has had trouble running from his home network. This would help keep the old website up for 5 more years, as long as Druid continues to renew the domain.
We could go for a shorter term, but the renewal rate is $5/month, so it is better to pay for a longer term to lock in the lower rate. Once we do that, we won't need to worry about file hosting for a very long time. As for the slots, I think we're ok at 14, but we could go down to 10. I don't know for sure, but its possible if we reduce our slots if it will also reduce our bandwidth allotment - if that's the case it might be a good idea to increase the slots instead. I would have to ask GameServers, because I don't completely understand how it works myself. |
