I am debating on getting a new computer. It has to be able to run WoT. It also has to be able to do all my school stuff like powerpoint, publisher, ect... I know if it plays WoT it probably won't have any problems with my school stuff. If anyone has any suggestions as to a type of computer or just post a link to one, that would be great. I also have to option to upgrade the laptop we already have. I have no idea about updating it to play WoT though.

Sorry everyone for saying this, but i recommend getting a Macbook Pro with bootcamp (with windows)

I say this since for school stuff, Macbooks are by far superior in my opinion and it is a lot safer. (You can browse the web with 0,01% chance of viruses.. i made that number up but still, VERY small)

I am using Windows XP through bootcamp on my iMac and it works VERY smooth, so i would recommend using the Mac partition for anything school related and regular browsing (including twitter, facebook etc.) and the Windows partition for gaming

(If you like windows only better though, i can't help you on that D:)

It all depends on how much you are willing to spend

I will be spending around 1,000 or so. However, if I can upgrade our laptop we already have, then it would be alot less. We have a toshiba right now. I would LOVE to have a mac and have looked at them alot. I just didn't know how the whole bootcamp thing worked on them.

Well upgrading a laptop is a very expensive and not really worth it. building a desktop is the way to go for $1000 you can get a great pc if you build it. I agree with rumble mac's are good for school stuff. but mac's are also overpriced.I would build a desktop pc if I were you.

For $1,000 you can get a great pc. Either buy building or buying a pre-built pc that fits your budget and specifications.

Just about every new computer on market these days (Desktops, not sure as far as laptop's go) will be able to run WoT.

Buy.com is a great site to look at, you can get some pretty good computers for allot cheaper then if you went to Best Buy or Walmart or something like that, and running Powerpoint & publisher or any other Microsoft program such as word & office would be no problem at all.

Macs are great for school. but Apple charges ridiculous prices for their products. so I'd stay away from that if possible.

for example: apple Charges $296 for their 1TB hard drives. you can find them online for as cheap as $96 used and new.

But it's entirely up to you lol.

Just want to say right here, $296 is for a Internal Hard drive, you can just as well use ANY other external hard-drive. A 1TB Ext. HD is about €80-90. So that example is not viable :/

Also, Apple charges high for high customer service and it is VERY user friendly, where as with Windows i have already run into a couple of problems. (I've been using a Mac for about 10 years with about 2-3 problems, which was me trying to get windows games to work on a mac using useless programs. I've been using Windows for about 3 weeks and i have run into more problems -_-)

Anyway, It has also been proven that the best Windows computer is a Mac.

Still, I will say that when it comes to pure power/price ratio, Windows PC's will pretty much always win.
(With Mac you don't just buy the product, you buy everything that involves a mac as well.)

Anyway, almost none of this is going to help Jess so I will stop trying to "win", which is impossible
