Umm, you need to have an account on that site to be able to download the first map you linked to; any alternative links? As for Darkwood, I think it was problematic due to excessive mine spamming, low ammo and few weapons at lockers around and very narrow/restrictive areas for fighting (one wrong step and you're in the water and need 30 more secs to get back where you were, those trees with the annoying big roots, etc.), considering it's a meatgrinder map. Personally, I agree that it shouldn't be on the server in its current state.

actually, the latest version of darkwood already had the mine layer remove (or to be exact, there was only one locker left with 4 mines) and improved lockers...
the link setup was also changed... what hasn't been any different was the map itself... as you already mentioned, water traps, unlucky positioned holes... maybe that's why it had such a low popularity =/ but let's face it - without big-rooted trees, without water and stuff, darkwood would more or less be a slightly bigger spambox-clone without the vehicles... so what are we missing actually? imo (and i think peg mentioned that already) a map with different horizontal levels/platforms would be interesting... lifts AND jumppads not only to platforms that are direct neighbours, but also from platform A to platform D for example... then maybe some sniping spots... ramps... a big central platform OR bunker... map could take place in the sky, dunno. since i am no mapper, i could only sketch my ideas... so anyone who is willing to create such a thing, i am more than willing to email him or her my ideas about it... what is more, i came up with this idea about a medieval map... ya know, big castles wit several floors and a roof and steeples of course... with a water ditch surrounding it... the castles are not far from each other, maybe 30 feet... so u can see and shoot the blue guys on the roof from the red base's roof... then, an interesting thing would be a closable main entrance... BUT - there are actually jumpboots seomwhere so one could still jump over the wall making an unexpected attack / attacking the enemy frontline or main entrance "guards" from behind.... position minigun turrets in the towers and near entrances... maybe one or more nodes outside of the castles... and that's it! ![]() |

I loaded it, and i quited almost imediatly, it crashes 5 out of 10 for me. But the map has potential, it needs a mino.
