I'd like to ask somebody skilled enough for editing the current MasterShower V3. I have serious problem with the vehicle's layout (it's like MasterShower-TankMeUp) and need some minor tweaks too partially based on the old MasterShower V2b:

1. Replace 2 Goliaths in the middle with Railgun tank and Paladin
2. Remove the fog
3. Replace the non-transparent shower glass with a transparent one from V2b
4. Any more suggestions welcome

Don't forget to remove the annoying grapple gun or, at least, differentiate it from the common link gun that should be at the weap lockers (perhaps offer grapple gun at its own pickupbase?).

Btw, Crusha has talked about the problems with using transparent textures in the Hypercube thread, but in short, after observing another player being behind such a surface for 6-7secs, they would suddenly stop being deemed relevant by the server and immediately disappear from your view until you'd be in direct sight of them again. Are you sure you want such large transparent textures that could mislead flying attackers into thinking there's nobody defending the shower when, in fact, there could be?

Oh, another thing I forgot: after "using" them for a while, do we still think the Kamikazi pickup and the TK Shock Rifle contribute anything in this map or whether they should be changed into something else or not?

The RelevantTimeout limit only applies to players behind BSP or terrain. If the transparent parts were replaced by StaticMeshes, players should stay relevant behind them.

Terrain as well in UE2? I though you had to define such spots yourself by placing BSP-walls in the hills. (Thus BSP with AntiPortal-flag is preferred to AntiPortal-Actors)


If you update this map and decide to leave the Kamikaze pickup in it, I suggest to replace it with the fixed version from ONS-Rail, since that at least propagates the sound online so you know when the danger is approaching.

Terrain is only used if the connection bandwidth limits the amount of data the server can send.

By the way sometimes odd "anomalies" happen on this map: players and vehicles start floating in a certain area for a small amount of time. Wonder why is it...

Oh, and why is the spider with linkturret called "antigravity tank"? I guess it has a connection with the anomaly but what???
