I purchased the Call of Duty through Steam so when I download the game through Steam, It automatically gives me an update to 1.7. Is there a way that I can un-install just the updates and not the game? I tried to un-install and re-installed the gameb and the updates are automatically applied to the download.

Tank, that's the bad thing about purchasing cod4 through steam, they have control over what version you're able to play and unlike HL2DM, in cod4, the latest version isn't necessarily the best version for the reasons i stated in my previous post:

I use "Tank_Jr" i was using xfire with windows xp didn't try yet with windows vista i installed windows vista Ultimate what an disappontment with this operating system ..cod4 what a kick ass game .I will run out and buy the game engine .it would be nice to play with some friends ..
