As of 11:00am today we have made some updates to the server for the purpose of tweaking performance. Also, we finally added the servers back to GameTracker so that everyone can begin reestablishing their server gameplay stats. As we make further enhancements, we'll keep you posted! Sorry to get the news out so late, but in the past few weeks we made a decision to change our hosting arrangements, due to some service reliability issues with our game server hosting company. What Happened to the Servers? All of us who have frequented the REAL NC servers have known them to be reliable and fairly glitch-free over the last few years. However, there have been times when we have experienced service downages and interruptions that have lasted anywhere from a few hours, to days or in some cases even a week or more. Such interruptions of service have always been considered unacceptible, and at these times I have endured the frustrations of dealing with the "customer no-service" attitudes typical of game hosting and other similar internet-based companies. However, we simply decided to "live with" such hiccups in order to maintain the hard-earned statistics for both our servers and players...until a few weeks ago when our latest service interruption resulted in a complete loss of all statistics associated with our servers and players. With the loss of this information there was now no more incentive to continue the relationship, so the decision was made to move our hosting. One Door Closes, and Another Opens Fortunately, our clan sponsor, AEM, already provides web hosting services, and expressed interest in expanding into game server hosting. So, as of early last week, AEM installed a new 22Mb circuit, with options to expand to a 50Mb or 100Mb circuit in the future as their hosting needs grow. They have placed our servers on that circuit as of last week and we have been testing them out and working out various kinks since. As of yesterday, we are still working on testing and tweeking hardware, routers, server configurations, and other ISP related issues. Tomorrow some more equipment is due to be installed to hopefully resolve some bandwidth and responsiveness (lag) issues, with the target of being up and running full strength by week's end (of course, that was the expectation LAST week, too, lol). At the moment there are no ñc clan game servers listed on our web page; however, once we have established a stable internet link for the servers, we will begin adding game servers back into GameTracker and our web page, and we will begin building our web stats up again for the servers and players. Special Thanks to Our Clan Members During all of this tumult, our clan members have really come through in so many ways. Special thanks to one of our newest members, ñcPHURIAN, and FURIAN, who offered their personal computers and time to set up a interim ROCKTGULCH server and other servers while all of this was going on. Also, as always, special thanks to ñc mafia, who despite his own set of challenging circumstances, has kept his BANSHEE NOOBS server going, established a new TeamSpeak server for the clan, and has worked with other clan members on setting up other ñc clan servers in the interim while all of this gets worked out. And thanks to each of the clan members who have volunteered to help out by setting up an armada of other servers, and have offered to help out administering our servers as well. Finally, thanks to all of you Haloholics who have loyally frequented our game servers and made them what they are. They are a fun experience because you are there and keep coming back. Thank you for your patience and your understanding. Exciting Stuff is Coming!! In the short term, we will continue working to reestablish stable ROCKTGULCH, SNIPRWARZ ROTATION and POWRGULCH servers with our new host. In the meantime you may see two sets of each of these servers until all the kinks are ironed out. And during this time you will most likely experience network lag, glitches and other similar problems, since some of these servers are being hosted by members. Please continue to be patient and understanding and know that we are working on it. Once this phase is completed, we will begin working on a number of other exciting servers and projects. ñcPHURIAN has already made some great suggestions that we intend to implement (can't tell you now, or we would have to hunt you down and shoot you). We will also work on getting ñc mafia's BANSHEE NOOBS server on a stable link as well (if you haven't played this server, 32 banshes is a major HOOT). Another project in the chute is establishing a set of Scrim Servers, which will be set aside solely for the purpose of hosting ñc vs ñc scrims, ñc vs non-ñc clan scrims, and even having reservations for non-ñc clan vs non-ñc clan scrims! Furthermore, once this is in place, we can host scrim tournaments and allow for posting of tourney results! I'm excited and I hope you will be as well! Thanks Again I would like to once again thank everyone who came through and helped during this transitional time, and again thank all the players who have frequented our servers and made them a fun place to unwind and kill some peeps...in a totally platonic and virtual way! In the meantime, keep looking for and playing on our servers (remember: if they don't say "REAL NC" then they ain't "REAL" ñc servers!), keep reading our posts (I promise, I'll be better at keeping everyone up-to-date), and... Due to a problem with our hosting company, three of our servers have been down since Saturday just after 12am. Please accept my apologies. We are aware of the problem and are attempting to resolve this by today. Unfortunately, as with many of these internet hosting companies, they are only accessible via email support so these things often take more time than they should. The affected servers are: ROCKTGULCH TANKWARZ POWRGULCH Also affected is our Teamspeak server. Again, sorry for the problems. CU all in the game soon -- ñc a booger

Heya folks! We cleared the ban lists for the above servers around 3:30am EST, so if you got yourself banned for betraying, or being generally nasty, all is forgiven and you can now get back on. Be nice, though, because we do keep all copies of prior ban lists close at hand so that we don't have to chase down Halo malcontents in order to put 'em back on the list. Unfortunately, there are a few that were left on, so if you can't get on you may want to get with us on our TeamSpeak server, or drop us an email so that we can look into it. Until then... As of a few weeks ago, we launched a new fun server that is intended to be a fun alternative to our ever-so-popular ROCKTGULCH server. So, if ROCKTGULCH is full, or if you just want a fun change of pace, you now have a cool alternative rocket server that you can add to your favorite servers list! ROCKETS+MORE has beefed up rocket action, a crapload of tanks, decreased vehicle respawn and more. If you like ROCKTGULCH, then you're gonna like ROCKETS+MORE too! In fact, we've been seeing many of the ROCKTGULCH regulars frequenting this server as well. So, next time you see ñc Mafia, give him a thumbs up on this, his latest creation! P.S. Be on the lookout you noobs for our next way cool server (coming up in a week or so). Not gonna give out any hints, but it's way nooby and way fun, too!
