I think you should ask them why you can't register for a server two weeks before release of the game.........Their answer "it looks like...." is complete bogus. If anyone was going to rent out servers for MW3 the internet would be exploding with advertisements just as is the case with Battlefield 3. Yet no one advertises, no one let's you pre-order or pre-register for a server. Me thinks the dedicated server option is built into the game. More like dedicated host-option, just as it is in Counterstrike and most other Valve games.

I mean, really who would pay dear money for an unranked server?.....

Just to be clear, everybody thinking a dedicated server will be external or 3rd party, check the first answer bowling gives, and more specifically this bit:

"...allowing players to find and filter via an in-game server browser or set-up their own Dedicated Server for complete control, without being restricted by any 3rd party hosting requirements

so NO 3rd PARTY HOSTING......meaning you have to do it yourself
