It would be rather easy to let this one slip but I don't know where you are getting your 'crappy' facts from but non-steam servers are the "most-monitored" and "most-supervised" servers ever, since anyone can connect to their servers openly due to lack of unique client ids, so it should be monitored closely.
Not to mention they are less dependant on Steam software which made the game more stable than the official release. Steam-only servers also have hackers, if you are think there are not, you must be delusional. It's just that it's easy to permanently ban players if they are hacking with the use of steamid, where a non-steam server just can't do that. Of course a non-steam server can ban a steam player permanently, but he can just connect back again with a non-steam client. But a private system can be made like a player registration system but the owner should be serious and motivated enough to do that. I see big non-steam communities like UGC already doing that for real cash using a user control panel in their web page. But it has not been made an essential requirement to join their servers so if they will, it will be just like any other steam server out there, because registration has given the non-steam client a unique id for themselves. If they get banned, they will have to pay again for registration. I think the majority is already making the smarter choice, which is to play the game without even paying a penny lol. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I appreciate your input, but UGC has a dead 1.6 community of 30 servers that all run choppy and laggy and are under-staffed with any normal STEAM player banned unfairly. If you ever use a LEGIT steam client to search for a UGC server you will notice that they are never listed on steams masterlists because all of their servers are infested with fake clients.
We are one server, just focused on having fun without the issues non-steam clients bring. You choose where you want to play, if you take the time to play in our server you'll notice there's barely any non-steam players, although it does allow the connection for them. We don't promote the use of non-steam clients, we actually promote the use of STEAM clients, hence the download STEAM links all over our web and the functions available to all steam users rather than non-steam. |
